The Festive Season

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

Malaysia…ohh malaysia
the land of paradise,
the land of harmony,
the land of unlimited holidays,
the land of holiday for no reason,
I love this country

well the double festive celebration has just passed us by, a lot of things may have happen but mainly one thing is gonna happen tommorow (as in monday). Back to square one. work, class, non-sense, no holiday.
live is tough is in it….
things were ok for me when i was in the northern region of malaysia….
but when i was back on home ground pjay…
it was totally different…
open houses, ketupat, harimau, hitam, bukit dun….
marvellous…
but it all ended on wednesday when i had to leave to jb…
but no things were different…..
i got a CAR….
a vehicle with 4 tires…actually 5 but 1 is a spare…..
that info was for the kaathe paiyans(jungle people…u know who u r!!!)
the machine is  a state of the art machine,
travels from 0 to 60 in "i dunno how many" seconds….now that is bloody fast
the ride is awaiting to be pimped by UCDR crew as soon as i get a place to mint out money….
though it still is good without any mod….
i mean it n i am willing to test it out to prove ur grin on ur face now is damn wrong….
u think this malaysian muscle car cant do shit…..then ur wrong…dead wrong….
i LOVE MY CAR…
muah….
i dono wat to write so i just wrote this….
but it is all true…
those who want to race are willingly invited….
there is only 1 request….
POUR for me petrol……i’ll give u a 200 meter start ahead of me…..
but end of the day u’ll be smelling my tire marks n tasting the dust i left…..
hahahahahahahahahahaha

Malaysian Indian Rap…(Part 3)

Wednesday, October 11th, 2006

HI people, i read this mail on frenster n i am not sure whether it is the truth or not? but it surely does make some sense. if anyone who read my blog and have any story about C.Sonics side of this fairy tale please let me know.

Heard lots rumors about the songs that was on both
albums regarding bashing up each other’s image. But
after listening to the songs…the impression that I had
on Indian music scene completely change

U guys are not using the music scene to bring up
indian’s name in hip hop, but u guys are eventually
usin it for your own purpose. What does this all
show? What do u guys get in return? Revenge????

Yogi B, people respect the way he came up in the
music scene, but he really caught me by surprise
when I heard his music. His great, but by him
composing a song regarding Chakra, makes him no
different from them. I mean Yogi B suppose to use a
different way of getting back at them by smackin the
asses through music n not using music.

And Chakra has proved they are guilty by responding
to Yogi B’s song. The whole thing is a bunch of crap.
U guys suppose to educate youngster and give em
support to come up in the music scene. But looks like
u guys are creating a sin.

U guys may have a hatred buried for each other
somewhere deep inside, but pls dun spoil music for ur
freaking own purpose. I am a fan of Yogi and then
Chakra, but now it looks like u guys are spoiling your
own image. Don’t u guys.
U have fans out side there tat’salutes and respect
your music. Don’t spoil that.

Few days back, I went to karma…Jack from
chakrasonic…u gave me a laugh. All the while I tot
chakra was talented and decent people who suppose
to be respected by other. But they proved it wrong.
Jack spoke like a freaking m’fucker. He calls himself
a musician. Ohh pls get a life dude. Cause ur league
sucks big time dude.

Yogi B, u have my respect and will always be there. U
guys are one step higher that chakra no matter what.
But always remain one step higher and stop being
jerks like them using ur music as a way out.

Tamil Hip Hop should be creating an awesome scene
and not Creating a bashed up sin

Malaysian Indian Rap…(Part 2)

Sunday, October 8th, 2006

DEAR FANS OF THE MALAYSIAN TAMIL INDUSTRY…even non-indians also….
i know u have heard about Yogi-b n Chakrasonic….
both talented rapper but here the dark side of the story….
i got this info and i am not sure about how true it is…????
seeing is believeing….
read n enjoy…(good shit)

Message: There has been so many different
rumours and
news about Malaysian tamil hiphop group,
Chakrasonic. What the fuck is really going on?

Chakrasonic initially started off as backup dancers
for an established Malaysian group, Poetic Ammo.
Constantly being in the background made them
frustrated and in 2000, they left the group in an ill-
mannered way and went on to pursue a career as
rappers themselves. In the same year, they struck
a deal with Indian record label Dhanosh Records,
where the label agreed to pay $15,000 as a finance
to record an album. Chakrasonic also signed a
contract which tied them to Dhanosh for 5 years
and recorded “Kalai Oru Por”. The albums
first single was a controversial one. “Natpu
Illai” was a track which dissed lead rapper of
Poetic Ammo, Yogi B and lyrics reffered him as a
backstabber, cheater and liar. Though the group
will continue to deny this, the singer who did the
chorus for this song was actually Yogi B’s
sister herself. She was tricked into recording this
song not knowing that it was actually a diss to her
own brother.

The group also further embarrassed themselves
among established lyricists as their lyrics were
just mere translations from English rap songs. For
Example:

2pac’s Hailmary-

I ain’t a killer but don’t push me/ Revenge is like
the sweetest joy next to gettin pussy/

Vivek’s verse:

Naan kolbavan alle/Anne Uruesi pakathe
melle/Kondhue Palli/Penggal sungemena Valli/

After the release of their debut album., the group
left Dhanosh once again in ill-manered terms
though this was technically impossible as the
group was yet to complete its 5 year contract.
Chakrasonic eventually went on to record their
second album after 3 years titled “Kodi Kelviyin
Bathil”. This album further tarnished the groups
reputation for the following reasons:

- They did not pay the studio the money for
recordings and still owe a few thousand dollars to
Platinum Studio.
- They cheated the composers of music from this
album by not paying them the money promised
and to date still owes the producers a few
thousand dollars as well.

Also to further complicate issues, the group could
not release the album under any other label other
than Dhanosh Records as they had yet to
complete their contract with the label. But they
broke the terms of their contract with Dhanosh and
started to approach a new distributor to release the
album.

Digital Tones was the victim. The group initially
agreed with Digital Tones and released Kodi
Kelviyin Bathil with this new label. Of course, the
fact that they were still signed with Dhanosh was
never brought up and Digital Tones did not even
realise this mistake. Chakrasonic proceeded to
launch their album at a restaurant with an average
crowd turn out. At the back of the CD, the logo and
wordings “Distributed by Digital Tones”
were printed and the CD was sold to those who
attended the event.

Just after the event, the distribution deal for the
album was dropped by Digital Tones after the
company found out that this group had tricked
them into an agreement while still on contract with
Dhanosh. The group not knowing what to do,
approached an non-indian label, NAR Records to
release the album. The CD’s which were
previously printed with the Digital Tones logo were
re-packed and NAR records printed stickers to be
pasted on top of the Digital Tones logo to cover up
this problem. Of course, NAR Records is still in
the dark about the fact Chakrasonic has yet to
complete their contractual agreement with
Dhanosh Records.

Now the group is apparently working on their third
album DESPITE the fact that they owe thousands
of dollars to producers and the recording studios.

One of the board members of Multimedia
Univerisity, Cyberjaya has even stated that the
group requested the following as part of their
payment for a 30 minute show at the university.

- Women to sleep with
- one large bottle of liquor
- Weed/Ganja
- Plus a high amount of payment
(probably kerja-kerja menokoh tambah)

The group is also constantly spotted at Waikiki
pub in PJ half drunk and womanizing. Imagine the
irony of not paying studios and producers but
spending the money on liquors and women.
That’s the sad outcome of Chakrasonic. The
group is also known for being a copycat.

Example:
The Intro from their last album was an EXACT rip
off, from Tupac’s Betta Dayz album. One of the
photos from the inlay was also an exact copy of
the inlay from a Death Row Records album.

Note: A careful research has been done for
information which have been published on this
article. It is highly accurate

GRIDIRON GANG…(courtesy of IGN.com)

Sunday, October 1st, 2006

Gridiron Gang isn’t just distinctive, it’s downright
exceptional - the kind of film that not only sustains its genre, but
sets a legitimate benchmark if not a high watermark for future entries
to aspire to.

Starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in his first major turn as a
dramatic actor, the movie peruses the same playbook as countless other
underdog tales: determined counselor Sean Porter (Johnson) starts a
football program at his youth detention center to instill discipline
and self-confidence only to end up learning a thing or two about
himself in the process. Xzibit (MTV’s Pimp My Ride) plays Malcolm Moore, Porter’s fellow counselor and assistant coach, Leon Rippy (Deadwood) plays Paul Higa, his boss and reluctant team supporter, and L. Scott Caldwell (Lost) plays Bobbi, Sean’s ailing mother.

The film was inspired not only by a true story but prerecorded events;
Jac Flanders made a documentary about the real Porter in the early
’90s, footage from which can be seen over this version’s closing
credits. What’s different about this from the annual sports movies we
usually see, however, is that the obstacles are strikingly more
palpable: where Invincible and Miracle functioned as de facto history lessons, this movie takes place now, in a time when the kids upon whom the characters are based are still alive - or tragically, died at an early age.

Additionally, while gang struggles and the perils of street life are
vividly depicted, the film treads lightly on the race issues that
stories like Remember the Titans and Glory Road
exploited to melodramatic effect. This is a film about kids getting a
second chance, and the film really celebrates that possibility without
trying to overdramatize it.

While I never followed his wrestling career, The Rock acting career has been a subject of great interest: even in The Mummy Returns,
where his performance was mostly comprised of motion-capture CGI, he
demonstrated the kind of charisma that most action stars would kill
for. Thankfully, he’s not content just to be an action star, or just anything at all; subsequent turns in Walking Tall, Be Cool and especially his deft turn in The Rundown suggested that he was capable of much more than flexing his pecs.

Here, he manages to exercise both sides of his on-screen persona: the
tough, no-nonsense leader who can take on any challenge and the
self-deprecating, sensitive guy who will take one for the team. Best of
all he doesn’t embody the character like a guy trying to prove himself
- the familiar trap for aspiring thespians - but plays each moment, bit
funny, serious or something in between, with just the right emphasis.
As mentioned above, it speaks highly of his acumen as a performer that
he can traffic in material that otherwise feels stale and make it not
only new but brilliantly compelling.

Overall, however, much credit must go to the script written by In the Line of Fire
writer Jeff Maguire, which catalogues the interactions and events that
the real Porter endured and then wisely retains the realism rather than
the capital-d drama. Not to mention director Phil Joanou, whose own
road to redemption after a flagging career should be sufficiently
buoyed at least creatively by this film’s surprising impact; the State of Grace and Heaven’s Prisoners
helmer tackles weighty character and story developments with
sensitivity and confidence, and proves his mettle to a new generation
of viewers (much less studio executives).

Gridiron Gang reminds me far more of movies like Mr. 3000 and Friday Night Lights
than the cookie-cutter Disney pictures mentioned above; in other words,
it’s an exhibition for the filmmakers to show off their talent in a
proven genre, and just maybe, elevate that genre above its previous
zenith. Despite (or maybe precisely because of) the dearth of true
originality in Hollywood of late, little premium is placed these days
on just plain execution - the idea that a director and his actors can
step into familiar territory and own it from the first frame.

In Gridiron Gang, sports movie cliché is the
songbook, not the final product - and when you can get audiences to
look at those clichés in a new way, or better yet, to truly care about
the characters and their conflicts, it’s not only a triumph; it’s a new
standard
